Day 1
Let the journey begin!  An overnight flight to Italy, a few movies later and bottomless service of wine and you have reached Sicily, a cornucopia of foodstuff.

Day 2
Palermo is the city of contrasts.  On this tour of Sicilian traditions and customs, meet a puppeteer, a candy maker, a street-food vender to taste local specialities and meet Andrea, a tailor and musician.

Day 3
Explore the Norman cathedral of Monreale on the slopes of Sicily’s Monte Caputo. Go to the historic town of Cefalù and learn about the city’s Greek origins. See city highlights, such as the Mandralisca Museum, Duomo and more.

Day 4
We leave Palermo behind and head to Trapani.  Before you arrive to Trapani,  you will meet a local cook who will host you at a beautiful “Baglio”.  She will illustrate the history of this traditional 18th century manor farm.  This expert cook will help you discover the traditional recipes of Western Sicily and you will prepare two seasonal dishes with fresh local ingredients she grows in her organic garden.

Day 5
At the resort and wine experience, you take part in a blind tasting game.  The sommeliers of Baglio Sorìa will lead you by the hand into a sensory experience where each bottle is concealed, so you focus on the local varieties and the pure taste of the wines.  A journey of the Firriato wines, combined with some local specialities.

Day 6
Today, the island of Favignana wines.  An exclusive tasting to learn about the only wine production currently in the Egadi Archipelago.  Three wines made from grapes grown in the five hectares of the splendid Tenuta di Calamoni in Favignana.

Day 7
With a private transfer, it is off to Agrigento, but before you settle in at the spectacular 5 star Villa Athena, we visit Selinunte and Cantina Barbera.  In Selinunte, experience a stroll in the largest archaeological park in Europe, then a tour and lunch at Cantina Barbera paired with their special selection of wines.

Day 8
Along with your stay at Villa Athena, you receive reduced entrance fees to the park. You will be situated in Agrigento in the heart of the Valley of the Temples, in front of the Temple of Concordia, which is only 200 meters away, in one of the most extraordinary archaeological sites in the world, named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.  Villa Athena is the only hotel with direct and exclusive entrance for its own guests to the Archeological Park.

Day 9
On your way to Siracusa, there is free time in Modica & Noto.  Modica is known for its Baroque buildings and chocolate museum.  For those architectural lovers, there is Noto.  The town is home to one of Sicily’s most beautiful historic centers.  In the center of town, there is an elegant walkway flanked by baroque palaces and churches.

Day 10
It’s time to hit the Syracuse market with the local chef.  Among the stalls and fishers’, butchers’, and greengrocers’, our chef will share with you the secrets of grocery shopping in Sicily.  With your help, chef will choose the ingredients for your cooking class, then off to the kitchen.

Day 11
A morning transfer to Catania, where you explore Sicilian culinary traditions and Catania culture and highlights through a walking food tour of Catania.  Start off with the Sicilian breakfast of granita and brioche.  After a stroll around the city, you taste local cheeses, olives and oil at the fish market. The tour ends at the Duomo with a tasting of typical Sicilian street food like arancini, small pizza, cipollina, cartocciata.

Day 12
While in Taormina, you will tour three top Etna wineries learning about their wine production process. The owners will take you around the vineyards, and you will taste different types of white, rose and red wines, accompanied by fresh local foods.

Day 13
Today, you set sail discovering the Bay of Spisone, the Bay of Mazzarò and the beautiful Isola Bella along with its hidden jewel, the “Grotta Azzurra”.  This sailing experience comes with appetizers and wine. Take a dip in the crystal blue water and view the underwater marine life.  Plenty of time to snorkel and go for a swim.

Day 14
Enjoy a wonderful breakfast at the hotel in Taormina, then farewell to Sicily.
