The Piedmont region encompasses 100s of vineyards and is dotted with picturesque castles.  The rolling hills and hilltop towns offer up a panoramic view of endless vineyards.  They are displayed like a quilt in opposing directions and colors, but come alive with their rich aromas.  Calling all foodies looking to experience the slow food movement and sip on the finest wine Italy has to offer.  This tour will take you into the hills of Piedmont to find truffles.  You’ll enter into a wine cellar centuries old and learn the making of some of the regions beloved wines like Barolo and Nebbiolo.  Transport your palette to an area of Italy known globally for the finest wines, a true destination for food lovers.  Explore the area by foot and inhale the tapestry of the vineyards. Take part in a cooking class and bring home a bit of Piedmont with you.  Relax and unwind with a morning yoga class.  We end this tour along the beautiful shores of Lago Maggiore, where we continue to unwind on a leisurely boat ride like a true Italian.

Day 1

Explore Turin’s elegant tree-lined boulevards and Art Nouveau cafes on this chocolate tasting tour.

Day 2

Together with your expert guide, you will see the most representative places of the Italian Renaissance in the city of Turin.  Buildings, stories, characters, palaces: everything in Turin is a symbol of royalty, government and elegance.

The rest of the day, you are free to shop.

Day 3

It is the most exciting experience for an enthusiast. You will be accompanied in the woods, looking for truffles from an expert trifulau and his precious dog.

Day 4

Start the day with an hour of gentle yoga.

Uncover the secrets of Italian family recipes on your travels. Your host will share their wisdom, which has been passed down in their families for generations. Immerse yourself in a private cooking class.

Day 5

Discover the famous flavors of the Piedmont wine region, honored as a World Heritage site and named a Top Ten Wine Travel Destination by ‘Wine Enthusiast.’ Visit several local wineries to taste distinctive regional varietals like barolo, moscato and brachetto.

Discover the Piedmont town of Alba on a private walking tour, and learn about its connections with fine food and Roman ruins. As you stroll with a local guide, you’ll discover gems such as the Cattedrale di San Lorenzo and the baroque and medieval architecture around the historic center.

Day 6

Begin your day with a few stretches to loosen up the legs.  We spend an unforgettable day in the Piedmont countryside hiking along side a patchwork of rolling vineyards. Take in the sights along a 6-mile (10-km) trail loop.

Day 7

We head to Lago Maggiore where we’ll end our days relaxing lakeside.  If we have sometime, we’ll stop at a grappa distillery.

Day 8

A moderate yoga class over looking Lago Maggiore to start the day.

There’s no better way to see Lake Maggiore’s Borromean Islands than by private boat. This tour allows you to travel in true Italian style around Isola Bella, Isola Madre and more.

Hotel NH Torino Santo Stefano

The NH Torino Santo Stefano hotel puts you in the heart of beautiful Turin. We’re in the fashionable Quadrilatero Romano district, an area known for its fantastic shopping, restaurants and nightlife. The San Giovanni Cathedral – home to the Turin Shroud – is right next door. The hotel is walking distance from all the major tourist attractions like the Porta Susa and Porta Nuova train stations and designed by international architects Gabetti e Isola.
